# Privacy Policy
*Last updated: 16 August 2026*
Global Forgiveness Initiative (“GFI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates globalforgivenessinitiative.com (the “Site”) and publishes free educational content on forgiveness. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — specifically — how we use the Google Ads API for our own internal purposes.
## Information We Collect
**Content you access.** Our free ebook, *The Four Steps to Forgiveness*, is available for immediate download without requiring an email address or any other personal information.
**Automatically collected information.** Like most websites, our Site uses cookies and similar technologies — specifically Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the Site and to measure the performance of our advertising, which is run under the Google Ad Grants program for nonprofits. This may include information such as your general location (country/region), device and browser type, pages visited, and how you arrived at the Site (including which search terms or ads brought you here).
**If you contact us directly** (e.g. by email), we retain that correspondence and any information you choose to include in it.
## How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
– Operate and improve the Site and its content
– Understand which content and advertising is actually helping people find and use our free forgiveness resources
– Measure the performance of our Google Ad Grants advertising, so that grant funding (a limited resource) is used effectively
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
## Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality but will not prevent you from reading our content or downloading our free ebook.
## Third-Party Services
We use the following categories of third-party service providers, who process data according to their own privacy policies:
– **Google Analytics**, to measure Site traffic. Our Google Ads account is linked to Analytics, so advertising conversion performance is measured using this same data rather than a separate tracking tag.
– **Our hosting and security providers** (including Cloudflare), to keep the Site running securely and reliably
## Our Use of the Google Ads API
GFI’s content team uses a small internal tool, built on Google’s official Ads API, to research which forgiveness-related topics have real public search demand before writing new articles. Specifically:
– This tool only reads data from **GFI’s own Google Ads account** — its existing campaign names, geographic targeting, and keyword performance — and requests keyword ideas with approximate search volume from Google for candidate topics.
– It does **not** collect, access, or process any personal data belonging to Site visitors or any third party. It has no connection to visitor cookies, analytics data, or any personally identifiable information.
– It is used internally by GFI staff only. It is not distributed to any other organization and does not access any Google Ads account other than GFI’s own.
– Its only output is a list of keyword ideas (search terms and approximate volume) used to plan future content topics.
## Children’s Privacy
Our Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent changes.
